The fishing village of Breskens is a popular maritime seaside town in West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Here you’ll get a real taste of life by the sea. There is plenty to see and to do. Starting in the Marina, a ‘maritime walking line’ connects this part of the port with the fishing harbour and the centre of the village.

Shops
In the centre of Breskens, you’ll find the shopping centre, where you can buy all your daily groceries in the following stores: Jumbo Supermarket, Willemsen Bakkery, Plus Supermarket, Primera, Blokker, Etos, Leonidas, Zeeman, liquor store, ING servicepoint and Post.nl. The shopping centre is opened daily from 8.00 o’clock in the morning until 18.00 o’clock in the evening. Adjacent to the shopping centre is the cosy town square called Spuiplein, where you can enjoy delicious local dishes in one of the many restaurants.
Cycling
Around Breskens, there are a number of beautiful cycling routes, with stunning vistas over the sea, the dunes, the typical Dutch polders and many old creeks. Also worth your while are the surrounding villages of Groede, Nieuwvliet, Sluis and Cadzand. This last village is situated right next to the unique nature reserve ‘Het Zwin’.
